Giulio Xavier Cetto is a bassist, composer, and vocalist based in San Francisco, California.
Raised in a musical family, Giulio has played music his entire life and is dedicated to the love of space sound. Between gigging, recording and teaching, Giulio composes original works of music and plans to release his first album as a leader, as well as a collaborative trio album with group East Middle West in 2022.
While composing, leading his own bands, and playing in multiple ensembles, Giulio also teaches master classes and private lessons. For the past five years he has been a faculty member at the Stanford Jazz Workshop teaching courses from Bass, to theory and musicianship. He has also taught master classes at the University of Northern Arizona, University of Wisconsin Eau Claire, and taught at the California Jazz Conservatory.
Known for exploring multiple genres and styles, Giulio’s study of music spans continents and generations. Giulio is influenced by his Venezuelan-Italian heritage, Bay Area rap music, and his jazz and classically-trained family. His well rounded experience, deep listening and openness allow him to adapt to any musical scenario.
