Matthew Kesecker is a San Francisco born drummer who draws inspiration from jazz greats such as Philly Joe Jones, Art Taylor, Roy Haynes, and many others. He started out as a rock musician but got into jazz at the age of 18 after hearing a recording of Miles Davis’ second great quintet. Since then, he has been on a journey to find his own voice on the instrument while upholding the tradition of jazz music.
